Alexis Sanchez wages have David De Gea seeking bumper Man United deal

By ESPN

The January window might have just shut, but Transfer Talk still has the updates on all the latest rumours and done deals.

De Gea 'set to increase United demands'

It seems the huge contract given to new Manchester United signing Alexis Sanchez could have an effect on David De Gea's situation at Old Trafford.

The Sun reports that goalkeeper De Gea -- who continues to be linked with Real Madrid -- "is ready to demand at least £375,000 a week to sign a new deal."

It says the Spain international "has been made aware" of Sanchez' terms and, with his contract running out at the end of next season, "knows of his increased worth."

Last month, manager Jose Mourinho suggested United were ready to offer De Gea new deal that could keep him at the club for the rest of his career.

The Sun quotes a source as saying the financial situation "has completely altered for David and his people in terms of what his next contract should be worth," with Madrid still interested.

But Spanish outlet Sport reports that, should Bernabeu officials make an offer, United will tell them "that his price is €130 million."

Chelsea's Thibaut Courtois remains an alternative after saying on Tuesday that his "heart is in Madrid" ahead of talks about a contract extension at Stamford Bridge.

Liverpool maintain Alisson interest

Meanwhile, with speculation continuing to surround Liverpool's goalkeeping situation, recent reports suggested Roma had rebuffed an Anfield bid for Alisson Becker.

But "if at first you don't succeed" and all that -- the Mirror says Jurgen Klopp will keep trying to sign the Brazil international despite being told he could end up paying more than £45m.

Liverpool continue to monitor 25-year-old Alisson, with Klopp reportedly remaining unconvinced by either Simon Mignolet or Loris Karius, who said on Tuesday he was determined to keep his No. 1 status at Anfield.

But they will face competition, with the Mirror warning that he "is expected to be in heavy demand, with a number of Europe's elite potentially moving for him."

It says Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain are also interested, while Juventus will join the race if Gianluigi Buffon chooses to bring an end to his playing days.
