Argentina holds training session for civil aviation officials

PRESS RELEASE: The Argentine Fund for South-South and Triangular Cooperation (FO-AR), in association with the Argentine National Civil Aviation Administration and in collaboration with the Embassy of the Argentine Republic in Saint Lucia hosted a training session on “Risk Prevention by Fauna in Aerodrome”. The training headed by Professor James Ronald WHAMOND took place at the Hewanorra International Airport and was assisted by various officials from government and private agencies directly connected to the Aerodrome management.

Chargé d’Affaires a.i. of the Argentine Embassy Mr. Nicolás Abad stated “It´s an honour for the Argentine government to work together with the Department of Civil Aviation in building capacities in the aviation sector, by sharing our experiences and knowledge with Saint Lucia. Security and safety in aerodromes is a fundamental pillar in reducing the risk of loss of life and property, and in this manner ensuring that the experience of the travellers and the airlines is optimal. The “Risk Prevention by Fauna in Aerodrome” course is the first of many planned training activities that will take place in this collaborative association and we are pleased to see that so many people of different agencies from government have been able to attend and successfully complete the course. Team work is essential in achieving the goal of this course and the interactions witnessed throughout this week are a true mark of the commitment that Saint Lucia has to improving the safety of their airports, one of the most important assets for the tourism industry”.
