Jose Mourinho says Man United midfielder Paul Pogba was frustrated after his red card

Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho says Paul Pogba is "disappointed" with his compatriot Laurent Koscielny after his sending off at Arsenal on Saturday.

United won a thrilling encounter 3-1 at the Emirates but will be without key midfielder Pogba for the Manchester derby next week after he was red carded in the 74th minute.

The France international was dismissed for what Andre Marriner considered a dangerous challenge on Hector Bellerin but the United camp felt the Arsenal players hounded the referee into producing a red.

Mourinho said: "I didn't see the tackle.
"I just know that Paul is frustrated and a bit disappointed with his [France] colleague [Laurent Koscielny] for his reaction, because everyone knows Paul is a clean player and it was not his intention."
The United boss also felt Koscielny was fortunate not to be dismissed for hauling back Romelu Lukaku late on and also commented on what he saw as the propensity of the Arsenal players to go to ground.

He added: "I'll leave for you [the media] the Lukaku situation with Koscielny and I'll leave for you the Arsenal players on the grass.

"But I'll probably be the same because the grass is absolutely beautiful. I think there is a desire to go for the grass!"

Having fallen 2-0 behind early on, Arsenal created a string of chances but were regularly thwarted by United keeper David de Gea, who produced some outstanding saves.

Mourinho said "I told him after the match, what I saw today was the best from a goalkeeper in the world.

"You need the keeper to be there for you when the team needs him.

"The game was fantastic. If I was in the stands, if I was at home, I would be sad to see the game finish.

"In my case it's different, because I want to win and I want the game to finish.

"We managed to start the game with intensity and with that desire to play in their half."
