Parents told kids ‘best way to build a family bond’ was incest: cops

An Indiana couple accused of having sex with their kids allegedly told them incest was the “best way to build a family bond,” officials said.
Keylin Johnson, 53, and his wife, Sheila Johnson, 44, were arrested on more than a dozen charges after a Feb. 25 police report claimed they had sexually abused their three children since 2012, news station WISH reported.
Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office said they began investigating the Crawsford parents after their two oldest kids confided in a woman about possible sexual abuse.
Investigators met with the oldest child who claimed the dad said “incest was a normal way of life” and “the best way to build a family bond was to have sex with your parents, particularly your mother,” according to court records.
“[The dad] also advised it was safer to have sex with people in your own family, rather than strangers,” documents obtained by WISH said.
The youngest daughter — who was removed from the pair’s custody amid the investigation — reportedly told authorities that she was forced to watch porn and “both of her parents would do gross things in the home.”
Deputies said they were also informed that the mom possibly engaged in sexual relations with the family dog.
In police interviews, Sheila Johnson allegedly confessed to attempted bestiality and child abuse. She told investigators that her husband “would always want to role play and suggested mother-son sex scenarios,” according to news station WICB.
She faces 17 charges including multiple counts of child molestation and incest.
Her husband, Keylin Johnson, reportedly admitted to authorities that he was “guilty of internet porn and other stuff.” He said he saved a nude image of one of his children, according to officials.
The dad was arrested on 18 charges including child molestation, incest and possession of child pornography.
The couple remained in custody Tuesday at Montgomery County Jail on $50,000 bond each.
