os Islet Under 19 advanced to the finals of the inaugural St. Lucia National Cricket association Sandals 50 over Cup after completing a close 22 runs victory over semi finalist Central Castries.On Sunday May 13th at the Gros Islet Playing Field home team Gros Islet batting first was dismissed for 174 in 38 overs with Jard Goodman top scoring with 40. Other contributors were Simeon Gerson 23 not out, Tyrel Chicot 19, Domiinic Auguste 12 and Udel Preville 10.Bowling for Central Castries Keygan Arnold bagged 4 for 24 in 8 overs, Rahym Joseph 4 for 31 in 10 overs and Sanjay Hayle 2 for 41.
Chasing a victory target of 175 Central Castries despite a last wicket partnership between Kyle Adonis and Jeremiah Charles which threatened to scrape an unlikely win was dismissed for 152 in 35.1 overs.Captain Johnnel Eugene led the scoring with 36, Steven Mitchel 20, Chaz Cepal and Kyle Adonis 18 each and Mateo Boulogne 11.The chief wicket takers for Gros Islet were Dane Edward with figures of 5 for 27, in 7.1 overs, Simeon Gerson 3 for 44 in 98 overs with one each to Garvin Serieux and Rene Montoute.
