Rovman Powell hands Jamaica Tallawahs win over St Lucia Stars in CPL

By Sky News

After the visitors elected to bat, Kennar Lewis (33 from 34 balls) and Powell put on a century fourth-wicket stand - with the latter finding the boundary ropes with far more ease.

Powell brought up his first fifty in the shortest format of the game off 29 balls but eventually fell for 64 when he top-edged seamer Obed McCoy to David Warner at deep midwicket.

South African David Miller then blasted a quickfire 32 off 13 balls as the Tallawahs finished with an imposing 204-5.

Adam Zampa took a brilliant tumbling catch at deep backward point to remove St Lucia opener Mark Chapman for two and Imad Wasim then dismissed Rahkeen Cornwall as the Stars slipped to 8-2.

Warner, batting a five, looked to counter-attack and hit a breathless 42 off 26 balls but was caught off fellow countryman Zampa as the hosts stuttered.

Although captain Keiron Pollard (46) and Lendl Simmons (45) impressed the home side never looked like chasing down their target as they were restricted to 183-8.
