Shipping Association of St. Lucia (SAS) hosted meeting with the President of the Caribbean Shipping Association

Press Release:– The Shipping Association of St. Lucia (SAS) hosted a much anticipated meeting with the President of the Caribbean Shipping Association (CSA) Juan Carlos Croston of Panama who was accompanied by Martin Medina CSA Executive Board member responsible for the sub-division which consists of Freight Forwarders, NVO’s as well as Ancillary Service providers within the Caribbean Basin.
This highly awaited meeting took place at the Coco Palm Conference Center at Rodney Bay on Tuesday 23rd April.
Many relevant issues were discussed amongst the executive of both the CSA and the SAS as both parties realizes the need to bring about greater awareness of the existence and involvement of the Shipping Association of St. Lucia on a local and regional level as well as the SAS becoming an integral body when concerning all issues and legislation for containerized shipping, brokerage, cruise & ferry passenger vessels, air couriers, tankers as well as car carriers amongst other things.
The event was a day long conference during which the SAS presented their plans to the head of the Caribbean Shipping Association which included the possible hosting of the prestigious CSA conference in May 2020.
This conference attracts executive members of the various associations from throughout the Caribbean region as well as high level executives and shipping professionals from the US, Latin and South America.
St. Lucia is envisioned as a hub of great opportunity and promise, hence the delegation of the CSA found it of fundamental importance to ensuring this conference took place today.
Mr Croston was noted as saying “It was a wonderful and very beneficial business meeting which has enlightened him in many ways on the present day status and potential of the association in St. Lucia.”
The CSA delegation is set to also hold important talks with ministers of parliament as well as the Prime Minister as well as top officials from the St Lucia Air & Seaports Authority.
