St. Lucia Start Off With a Win in the 2018 Senior Women CONCACAF

St. Lucia made a winning start in the 2018 Senior Women CONCACAF Group D Qualifiers, with a hard fought 2 – 1 victory over Curacao. In the 30th minute of the game captain Ellaisa Marquis scored St. Lucia’s opening goal to give her team a 1 – 0 advantage at the end of the first half. At the resumption, Samantha Statia equalized for Curacao in the 55th minute. However, this was short lived as Lyla Lionel gave St. Lucia the go ahead goal in the 58th minute, thus ensuring a maximum three points. St. Lucia’s next encounter is on Friday May 25th against St. Vincent and the Grenadines, with their final game against Antigua and Barbuda on Sunday May 27th 2018.
