The government and people of Saint Lucia mourn the passing of Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II

On the passing of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, the Prime Minister of Saint Lucia, Hon Philip J. Pierre, has expressed deep sadness and conveyed his condolences to the British Royal Family and the government and the people of the United Kingdom.

He said: “The government and people of Saint Lucia mourn the passing of Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II—the longest reigning Monarch of the United Kingdom and the Commonwealth Realm. We wish to offer our condolences to the British Royal Family and the government and people of the UK during this solemn period. May Her Majesty rest in perpetual peace.”

The Prime Minister added that Her Majesty will always be an enduring symbol of stability and strength throughout the commonwealth region and the world.

Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II passed away on Sep. 8, 2022 at the age of 96. She is succeeded by His Majesty King Charles III.
