Metropolitan Couture Media Group (MCMG), a boutique Fashion Public Relations Firm from NYC brings its “grass roots” approach to St. Lucia.
With the breathtaking backdrop of Reduit Beach, beneath the setting sun, the 1st annual Caribbean International Fashion Week runway showcase began with a beautiful golden hue, bathing all of our incredible local/international models and brands with soft light and raucous applause – as well as some heavy rain. The show went on without a hitch as it was relocated indoors after a very brief delay, due to the swift action of Bay Gardens staff members, and assistance from a few guests as well!!
We welcomed swimwear, resortwear, streetwear, and other affordable ready-to-wear styles to our runway from 5 different brands:
@noire_geneselegere – Noire by Genese Legere (a native of Trinidad and Tobago) is a fashion house with a focus on contoured/fitted garments with special detailing. Her brand embodies confidence and sexuality. Based in NYC.
@shoptierone – Tier One by Barbie is a NY based fashion forward brand featuring formal wear, swim/resort wear, business and casual wear – along with beauty and luxury hair collections. “We are everything girls need.”
@nguclothing – Never Give Up, or NGU is a Canadian brand by St. Lucian native Marshall Celestin – a high-end unisex street wear brand that incorporates traditional madras print. The mission of the brand is to inspire, motivate, and liberate.
@Ecocreationz is a bespoke, environmentally conscious fashion/accessories brand, created and curated by local designer Dawna Hyacinth. She reimagines and upcycles reclaimed garments to create truly unique pieces that carry the passion and traditions of St Lucia in every stitch.
@shopomaboutique is a NYC cosmopolitan woman’s fashion house by Onyeka Deborah that features affordable hyper-feminine styles in ready-to-wear and swim/resort styles along with curated collections of accessories and handbags. The Nigerian-born “modelpreneur” is also the Creative Director of @caribfw.
