Caribbean women are set to make a strong impact at the Caribbean Hotel & Resort Investment Summit (CHRIS), one of the region’s key hotel and tourism investment conferences next week.

A number of the region’s top female tourism and business executives will address the summit, which is scheduled to take place May 22-23, 2023, at Loews Coral Gables Hotel in Miami.

Nicola Madden-Greig, President of the Caribbean Hotel and Tourism Association (CHTA) and Group Director of Marketing & Sales of Jamaica’s successful Courtleigh Hospitality Group, will present travel and tourism insights from the 60-year-old trade association during opening presentations on Monday afternoon.

Madden-Greig looks forward to engaging with the investment community and will highlight the tremendous opportunity the Caribbean presents for investors as one of the fastest recovering tourism regions in the world.

Following Madden-Greig’s presentation, additional regional hoteliers will take the spotlight as delegates celebrate the achievements of Nick and Karolin Troubetzkoy of Anse Chastanet and Jade Mountain resorts in St. Lucia. They will receive the Lifetime Achievement Award, which recognizes individuals who have made significant contributions to the hospitality industry over their lifetime through their actions, deeds and accomplishments.

Julianna Musgrove, Regional Learning and Development Manager of Sandals Resorts International, will receive the Caribbean “Rising Star” award, while the conference will also announce Deal of the Year awards in Development and Transaction categories, with properties in Anguilla, Dominica, Puerto Rico, and Turks & Caicos Islands being contenders for the top accolades.

Angela Musgrove, CEO of Invest Turks and Caicos, will deliver a presentation on opportunities in the British Overseas Territory, one of the tourism success stories of the pandemic. The investment agency has been focusing on development opportunities across the family islands with an emphasis on sustainable tourism development.

Also addressing the conference will be Grenadian hotelier Janelle Hopkin, President & Managing Director, Spice Island Beach Resort, who will participate in a panel discussion entitled “Views from the Boardroom”.

CHRIS offers networking opportunities and a wide range of sessions and panels led by experts from the hotel and finance industries.
