The Saint Lucia Air and Sea Ports Authority (SLASPA) hails the success of Port Showcase 2023, held on May 17 and 18, 2023, at the Finance Administrative Centre.

Under the theme “Beyond the Pandemic,” the event sought to provide the wider business community and the general public with more information regarding the air and sea port industry as well as allow its stakeholders to convene in one space, network, forge new business relationships, engage in discourse concerning upcoming developments, and gain insight into the latest industry trends beyond the pandemic.

Port Showcase 2023 saw enlightening panel discussions and technical sessions with 21 featured speakers locally, regionally, and from across the globe ranging from tourism specialists, industry executives, management specialists, aviation and maritime industry leaders who presented thought-provoking discourse ranging from HIA Redevelopment Programme, Aviation Life Cycle, Port Castries Supply Chain Logistics and Port Operations, Saint Lucia Maritime Business, and Maritime Tourism Focus.

During his closing address, General Manager at SLASPA, Daren Cenac, expressed appreciation to stakeholders, partners, sponsors, and employees of SLASPA for their commitment to realizing the event’s success.

According to him, “Port Showcase 2023 was an event of great significance to the Saint Lucia Air and Sea Ports Authority (SLASPA) and the wider aviation and maritime community. The event demonstrated our commitment to driving excellence and innovation in our operations and strengthening our partnerships with stakeholders.”

“Port Showcase focuses on bringing together the key players and practitioners within the aviation and maritime industries.” Added Senior Manager Business Development and Corporate Communications at SLASPA, Gasper George, as he spoke on the significance of the event to SLASPA and the wider port community.

He further expressed, “SLASPA hosted the inaugural Port Showcase in 2019 before
the pandemic, allowing us to engage the industry and speak to matters pertinent to port. COVID-19 transformed our industry’s very dynamics, challenging us to reset the button. It allowed us to reposition ourselves, rethink and re-strategize how we function and operate our ports. Therefore this second edition of Port Showcase was aptly themed Beyond the Pandemic, and endeavoured to put into perspective the Authority’s role in transforming aspects of maritime and aviation business, commerce, and trade.”
