The Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) presents “Mental Health and You” Webinar
By DEPARTMENT OF THE PUBLIC SERVICE
Mental Health Awareness Month is observed annually in the month of May. Globally, many people are battling mental health challenges daily. They are faced with the reality of not only dealing with their personal mental health, but that of their family members, colleagues, and those in the community. Mental Health Month provides an ideal opportunity to shine the spotlight on mental health matters. The Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) Unit, Department of the Public Service is committed to raising awareness of mental health challenges, fighting stigma and discrimination, and providing information and support to our public officers.
In this regard, the EAP will be hosting a webinar under the caption “Mental Health and You”. The webinar aims toprovide valuable information on mental health conditions, mental health tips, coping mechanisms, and the support services that are available. The webinar will be held on May 25th from 2 p.m. via Zoom.
The EAP Unit will also be releasing its first newsletter in commemoration of Mental Health Awareness Month during the webinar.
The Employee Assistance Programme was launched within the Department of the Public Service in March 2016, as a work-based solution-oriented intervention program to assist employees in identifying challenges and developing constructive action plans and strategies to deal with work and personal life. The EAP provides each public officer with up to six free counseling sessions facilitated by highly trained professionals. The EAP Unit can be contacted at 468 2269/60 or 2856252/2857264.
