The following announcements and revisions to the Soufriere Carnival 2023 Events  Calendar are made by the Soufriere Regional Development Foundation (SRDF) and its events arm, the Soufriere Events Management Organization (SEMO).

  • Break of Dawn continues: Tonight, Saturday, June 24, 2023, at 9 p.m., the Break of Dawn Show will proceed as planned. The main act will be Farmer Nappy, along with a star-studded lineup of national artists and the DYP band.
  • J’ouvert will not proceed: Unfortunately, the J’ouvert, which was supposed to take place after the Break of Dawn Show, will not be hosted as the event did not receive the requisite permission.
  • Rescheduled Parade of the Bands: The two-day Parade of the Bands set for June 25 and 26 has been postponed after consultations with the participating bands. All parties agree that the objective is to maintain a high standard and not let the Parade’s quality be compromised in any way. A further statement will be issued to announce the new date and plans for Soufriere’s Parade of the Bands.
  • Carnival Street Party to be Hosted: On Sunday, June 25, 2023, a free Carnival Street party will be hosted from 2 p.m. starting at the Soufriere Bus Terminal and continuing throughout the town circuit.

The SRDF and SEMO regret the cancellation and postponement and apologize for any inconvenience caused.

Soufriere Jazz and the Soufriere Carnival Queen Show serve as just two recent examples of the events held so far that have upheld the highest standards and been a credit to both Soufriere and the country.

Despite the delay, the Parade of Bands will still be hosted, and will be a spectacular showcase.
