By Embassy of Saint Lucia, ROC, Taiwan.
On Monday, Aug. 20, Ambassador Dr. Lewis, his wife Mrs. Brenda Lewis, and staff of the Embassy of Saint Lucia met with this year’s Taiwan Youth Ambassadors who will be setting sail for Saint Lucia next month! The Taiwan Youth Ambassador Programme first began in 2009 and postures cultural promotion and exchange at its core. Saint Lucia previously received Youth Ambassadors in 2013 and 2014. Over a six-day period, the 40 participants will be meeting with government and civil society entities, along with students of various age groups. They are trained in a variety of areas including marketing, education and healthcare. Ambassador Dr. Lewis congratulated the participants for being selected for this worthwhile exchange. As future professionals in their respective fields, in-depth knowledge of countries which recognize Taiwan in particular is the key to strengthening bilateral ties. His Excellency also delivered a brief presentation on Saint Lucia to help prepare the group for their visit. The presentation served as part of a 10-day intensive training schedule organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, ROC (Taiwan) to further equip the participants for the experience abroad.
