TROPICAL WEATHER OUTLOOK
Moisture and instability associated with Tropical Storm Philippe, will continue to cause scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms over the Lesser Antilles during the next 24 hours.
At 5:00 pm today, the center of Tropical Storm Philippe was located near latitude 17.6 degrees North, longitude 61.5 degrees West or about 20 miles or 30 kilometers east of Barbuda. Philippe is moving toward the northwest near 7 mph or 11 km/h. Maximum sustained winds are near 50 mph or 85 km/h, with higher gusts. On the forecast track, the center of Philippe is expected to pass near or just northeast of the northern Leeward Islands on Tuesday.
