Over the Leeward and Windward Islands, generally cloudy with scattered showers, which may be heavy in some locations, periods of rain and thunderstorms. Over Trinidad and Tobago, partly cloudy to cloudy at times, with some scattered showers and a chance of isolated thunderstorms.

TROPICAL WEATHER OUTLOOK

Moisture and instability trailing Hurricane Tammy will continue to cause cloudiness, periods of rain, scattered showers and thunderstorms over most of the Lesser Antilles, during the forecast period.

… TAMMY PULLING AWAY FROM THE NORTHERN LEEWARD ISLANDS…

At 11:00 am today, the center of Hurricane Tammy was located near latitude 19.1 degrees north, longitude 63.0 degrees west or about 60 miles or 100 kilometers north of Anguilla. Tammy is moving toward the northwest near 9 mph or 15 km/h, and this general motion is expected to continue today. Maximum sustained winds are near 80 mph or 130 km/h, with higher gusts.

On the forecast track, the center of Tammy will continue to move further away from the region. However, swells generated by Tammy will continue to affect the northern Leeward Islands during the next two days.

A surface trough located over the western tropical Atlantic is moving slowly westward. This system is expected to affect our region on Tuesday.
