TROPICAL WEATHER OUTLOOK

The atmosphere over the central Lesser Antilles remains very moist and unstable due to the presence of the Inter-Tropical Convergence Zone and a surface to low-level trough. Cloudiness, showers and isolated thunderstorms will continue over that area, during the next 24 hours.

At 5:00 am today, Tropical Depression Gordon was located near latitude 19.0 north, longitude 49.0 west. The depression is moving towards the west near 3 mph or 6 km/h and has maximum sustained winds near 35 mph or 55 km/h, with higher gusts. This system is forecast to move away from our region, during the next couple of days.

A tropical wave located over the eastern Tropical Atlantic, is moving westward near 9 mph or 15 km/h.
