TROPICAL WEATHER OUTLOOK

Moist and unstable conditions over the region, will continue to cause scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms over the islands, during the forecast period.

A tropical wave located a few hundred miles east of the Lesser Antilles, will produce similar weather conditions over the region later today and into tomorrow.

At 5:00 am today, the center of Tropical Storm Leslie was located near latitude 18.8 north, longitude 44.2 west. Leslie is moving toward the northwest near 13 mph or 20 km/h. Maximum sustained winds have decreased to near 70 mph or 110 km/h, with higher gusts. Gradual weakening is forecast over the next few days. Leslie does not pose a threat to our region at this time.

A second tropical wave located over the eastern Tropical Atlantic, is moving westward near 12 mph or 19 km/h.
