Castries South Constituency Group Presents : Miss Ciceron
Community Pageant.

The sashing ceremony of Ciceron’s annual Miss Ciceron Community Pageant took
place on Monday 29 th May 2023. The event has taken place in the community for a
number of years, dating back to 2017. The sashing ceremony marked the first of
many official participatory events scheduled for the six talented young ladies who will
be taking part in this years competition. The event also aided in introducing the
public to this years contestants and their sponsors. Special invited guests were
parliamentary representative for Castries South, Hon. Dr. Ernest Hilare and Miss
Nadege Lawerence, Miss Ciceron Pageant winner 2019.
During the main event, scheduled for June, 17 th 2023, the six 6 contestants will take
to the stage to display their skills in the catorgories of preliminary interview, talent,
swimwear and final interview for judging. Speaking at the sashing ceremony,
Chairperson of the Ciceron Community Pageant Miss Francila Austre said
“ The purpose of the pageant when it started in 2017 was to help give the young
mothers in the community a state of confidence and to give them a platform of self
expression, (also) to bring the Community together. With covid giving us the ability to
do so, having the community come back in a grande way to support the pageant is
amazing , and we are happy to get the pageant back on track”.
She continued,
“The Contestants were selected from all communities in ciceron each making
their presence known by going to the different schools in the community and
reading to the students and also doing their photoshoots and sharing them on
social media. (Now)The pageant has begun with our young ladies receiving there
sashes”.

The Miss Ciceron Community Pageant will commence at 7.00pm on June
17 th , at the Ciceron Secondary School. Interested parties can also follow the
