Corinth Secondary School Walks Away With The Crown

Press Release:- It was another successful showing at the NCC as Students of 9 (nine) Secondary Schools took to the stage to compete for the crown at the National Secondary Schools Calypso Competition June 7th 2019.

As with the Primary Schools, Radio Personality Scady Dot P entertained the students throughout the show.

Walking away with the crown from the Corinth Secondary School with 383 points with her tune, lyrically written by herself “Don’t Judge Me By What You See” was Sweet E.

Attaining 381 points, 2nd Place went to Baby K from the Castries Comprehensive Secondary School, performing to “Corporal Punishment.”

3rd Place at the competition was Lady Mona from the Bocage Secondary School, amassing 343 point with her tune “Manners” and 4th place winner coming from the Sir Ira Simmons Secondary School was Mighty Prince with 332 points.

Each of the four top winners each received a mobile phone compliments FLOW, a trophy, cash prize, hamper from Massy and Seven Seas. The 1st prize winner also received a Day Pass from the Bay Gardens Beach Resort, and two (2) passes from Splash Island.

In the crowd enjoying the competition was Crazy out of Trinidad.

Ezra, Arthur and Shemmy J were well received by the students at the end of the competition as they patiently waited for the results.

DJ Erupt of the Corinth Secondary School also had the students up on their feet and moving to the flavor of soca.

The Cultural Development Foundation is pleased with the showing of the Junior Calypso Competition as Events Company of Saint Lucia now gets set for the National Groovy and Power Soca Monarch Prelims.
