Covid-19: strong viral circulation, 7,395 new cases in one week in Martinique

Of the 46,953 tests  carried out between January 3 and 9, 2022, 7,395 were found to be positive for Covid-19 , compared to 1,686 the previous week. There are now 59,583 cases since the start of the epidemic in March 2020. 

Positivity rate: 15.8% (proportion of positive tests on all analyzes).

Incidence rate: 2,061 (number of cases over 7 days per 100,000 inhabitants).   

96 patients are in hospital,  including 31 in critical care . 298 patients are on oxygen therapy . 

10 clusters are monitored. 

Martinique has recorded 795 deaths  reported by the CHUM (University Hospital of Martinique) since the start of the epidemic. They were 788 last week.

Vaccination 

136,523 people received 2 injections , or 43.1% of the population aged 12 and over, according to the Martinique Regional Health Agency.
