Dennery Community Credit Cooperative Scholarship Award Ceremony

Dennery Community Credit Cooperative Society Ltd. Scholarship Award Ceremony was held on Sunday 29 July 2018 at 3:00 pm at the Clendon Masson Memorial Secondary School with the theme: “Dreams Thrive Here.”
Mr. Jean Jeriffe in speaking to students, mention seven tips to help them to achieve their goals:
1. Think of something you want as an achievement or a person to be like [as a successful individual].
2. Your dream needs to be big, believable and realistic.
3. See it, see yourself in that position.
4. Tell it, the more you say it, the more you believe it, and more it may happen.
5. You must plan it, set a time frame to accomplish every task in your plan.
6. Works it out."
7. Enjoy it, go out there and start right now, because provision has been made for you [by the Dennery Community Credit Cooperative Society].
Addressing parents, Mr. Jeriffe went on to say; "secondary school is another page of the book of their [child] lives."
"Patents, it’s a tasking one, I can say it's based on my experience both in primary and secondary school. Primary school years are easy years raising a child because the influences are just of the influence of the community, but when a child goes to Castries, Clendon Masson, Micoud or Vieux Fort [second school] they are faced with hundreds of Students with different characters. And if you don’t play a part in your child’s life, they may very well choose a path that you may very well don’t like, so your work as just started."
Ms. Shirley Biscette says; “awardees, don’t forget your reports have to be in on time, take them to the Credit Union.
Something I notice, the first term the child comes in with a very nice report, the second term the child goes down."
You need to look at your child's report and speak to him or her, find out why, how, where, what is the problem? Then find ways and means in helping that child, according to Ms. Biscette.
