On Saturday August 27th, the Dennery Seventh Day Adventist church had a prayer walk in the Dennery village on the theme the power of abuse.
They walked through the village and had different stops to pray against violence, crime, abuse and encourage people.
Donaldson Vidal, the first elder of the Dennery Seventh Day Adventist church was interviewed and he stated that they were there to let the community know that our Lord and Savior is a friend of sinners and he's interested in the well-being of the men and women in the community.
He also said that '' it's important to know and understand that this world is coming to an end and they need to turn to God because the politicians are clueless although they are trying''
He added ''even the religious community and the ecclesiastical community are doing their best, but the man who really is the answer, who have the answer for the cry and pain of the crisis is Christ Jesus, although he's not a popular man for the world, but he is the answer, he's the way maker, he's the light in the darkness, he's the promise keeper.''
He also wants to let St. Lucia and the world know that ''there is a better way, young men don't have to resolve conflicts with guns to end the lives of their brothers.
They can find other means of solving the conflict by having a conversation, seek counseling and calling onto God.''
He suspected that there is an attack on men in St. Lucia and across the world because the young men have been gunned down in the streets.
He also mentioned that ''there is a rise in female feminism, there's a void in the educational system, the women are going to the top and the men are falling lack so in the sense they feel the void, and they go back to society to show how much they want to replace that void by violence and attacking each other''
He said ''the call is to come back home, get to know your Lord, fall in love with Jesus and we can get that done by awareness and bringing a sense of awareness in the community to the nation to the young men and letting them know there is a better way in Jesus.''
