Dr. Hilaire rubbishes claims of victimization by the Opposition

By SNN

Ernest Hilaire Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Tourism, Investment, Creative Industries, Culture and Information

On Monday Dr. Ernest Hilaire told that there had been no dismissal of any employee at the GIS.

Dr Hilaire said, ”As far as I was informed there were three persons employed as consultants by the last government. Their consulting contract comes to an end in March this year and we are not renewing them as consultants”.

He continues to say, “I think we have been compassionate very accommodating. We could have moved to terminate them from July last year or August last year but we did not do that”.

He also said, “So when the opposition wants to accuse this government of being vindictive, that is not the case. We were very clear that we were not sending any of the consultants home. They were Saint Lucians, they were working. We don’t have need for their particular services but we still allow them to run out their contracts which end at the end of March”.

The press release by the UWP below.

SLP continues to victimize people who they perceive to be UWP Working for Government

In the last five years, no politicians have used the words “Vindictive” and “Wicked” more than Philip J Pierre and Ernest Hilaire. Now it is evident that both Pierre and Hilaire were always speaking about themselves.

Effective March 31st 2022, dozens of persons whom the SLP perceive to be UWP (Many are not) are being let go from various Government departments.

Look out in particular at NTN/GIS for the newly appointed SLP henchmen and women who will be responsible for pushing SLP biased news using state resources.

Of particular concern is the fact 3 media practitioners who are employees of the Government Information Service (GIS) namely Lissa Joseph, Primus Hutchinson and Herma Demarcque have all been given marching orders. These 3 persons have absolutely no connection to the UWP. The only issue that the SLP has with them is the fact that they were employed whilst Allen Chastanet was Prime Minister.

More jobs for the Labour boys and girls.
