EXTENSION OF DEADLINE FOR FILING OF INCOME TAX RETURNS

The Inland Revenue Department (IRD) announces an extension to the filing deadline for income tax returns due to a marked increase in new registrants on its E-Filing platform.

To facilitate this increase in new registrants utilising the E-Filing platform, the IRD has extended the deadline for filing Income Tax returns from Friday March 31, 2023 to Thursday, April 06, 2023.

The IRD is pleased with the unprecedented number of registrations on its E-Filing platform over the past few days. This method of filing is secure, accurate, efficient and a convenient alternative to in-person filing. This, however, has caused a slight delay in the approval of registrations and the eventual filing of those returns, prompting the need for the deadline extension.
