Fire destroyed wooden structure and severely burn utility pole and hut in Gros Islet

On Monday October 17, at 8:20 p.m., emergency personnel at the Gros Islet Fire Station responded to a call on Marina Street in Gros Islet town relating to a structural fire.
The fire suppression team found engulfed in flames an abandoned wooden structure, with fire spread to a nearby utility pole and hut. Using one fire appliance, the fire was extinguished with little difficulty. Although structure was completely destroyed by the blaze and the utility pole and hut sustained significant damage, no persons reported injured as it relates to this incident.
