French Customs officials seized 1.5 tons of cocaine off Martinique

French Customs officials seized 1.5 tons of cocaine off Martinique on the night of July 19, 2018, local news reports say.

The value of the cocaine was estimated at 60 million Euros, according to Martinique 1 Ere.

The online publication reported that the drugs were found in a sail boat.

Two men were arrested in connection with the drug bust after setting fire to the boat and taking refuge in a life raft.

However, the Customs Officials managed to extinguish the fire and discovered the cocaine packed in plastic bags.
