The Ministry of Health, Wellness, and Elderly Affairs is closely monitoring a surge in respiratory illnesses globally and locally. Media reports highlight rising cases of Influenza A, HMPV, Mycoplasma pneumonia, and COVID-19 in China, straining healthcare systems.
Here in Saint Lucia and the Caribbean, flu season is in full swing, with increases in Influenza A, RSV, and COVID-19 variants. Coupled with peak travel, we urge everyone to stay vigilant.
Protect Yourself and Others:
Wear a mask if you're feeling unwell.
Practice good hand hygiene.
Get vaccinated where possible.
