Gros-Islet U13 Goes To Barbados

On August 15th the Gros-Islet Football hosted a Press Conference to show their newly place Under 13 team.

The boys will be leaving the country  to Barbados to take part in the Charity Shield Soccer Classic Tournament.

The Vice President Mr. Charde Desir Stated" The team have been training together since 2020 and the boys have been improving every time. This will be their first time experiencing a tournament outside of St Lucia , we are very excited to be giving them this experience"

The President of the League Mr. Shayne Paul stated at the conference " Most players from the Gros-Islet football league end up on the national team later on. The reason for the trip is to give the boys the experience of what is it like traveling as a team to another country for the first time to take part in a tournament . That way,  when they make it to the national team  they would already have an idea in mind on what to expect when traveling to different countries to play . "

" The team will be under going the same conditions and taking part in the same activities as if they were  nationals. Which will include eating schedules , Training Tactics to name a few.   We will be looking forward to bringing  home the gold for St. Lucia."

The team will be leaving St Lucia on Thursday 17th August bound for Barbados.
