Homicide Investigation in Vieux Fort

On Friday, November 24, 2023, about 5:23pm, Officers attached to the Criminal Investigations Department of the Vieux Fort Police Station and other Police Personnel received and responded to a report of a shooting incident on Commercial Street, Vieux Fort.

Upon arrival at the scene, the investigators found an unresponsive male individual lying on his back on the pavement. He was being attended to by the Emergency Medical Technicians from the Saint Lucia Fire Service. He had what appeared to be gunshot wounds to his abdomen and right forearm. He was subsequently transported to a medical facility via ambulance. Shortly thereafter, investigators received information that the victim succumbed to his injuries, and was pronounced dead by a medical practitioner.

During the initial investigation, a number of spent shells and live rounds were recovered in close proximity to area where he was found. The victim has been identified as Mikus Prescott, a resident of Belevedere, Vieux Fort.

Investigations into this incident is ongoing.

The Royal Saint Lucia Police Force is pleading to anyone who may have information about this case to come forward. Anonymous tips can be provided at the number 555.
