The Saint Lucia Fire Service (SLFS) responded swiftly to the emergency call, with personnel from the Gros Islet fire station rushing to the scene at approximately 1:55 p.m. Upon arrival, they discovered a male individual lying motionless on the ground.

SLFS spokeswoman Stacy Joseph provided details of the grim discovery, stating that an assessment of the patient revealed no vital signs. Given the unmistakable signs of death, the scene was subsequently left in the care of the police.
