Man shot dead at Assou Canal

Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding a deadly shooting which occurred at Assou Canal, Grand Riviere Gros Islet on Monday night at about 10 pm.

According to reports, a young male individual was shot multiple times by gunmen. Several videos were posted on social media showing the victim on the ground in a pool of blood.

Residents in the area heard a barrage of bullets. There are no further details at this time.
