Martinique and Saint Lucia help each other fight crime

By la1ere.francetvinfo

For some time, Martinique has been plagued by violence. Drug seizures are regular and significant.

Exchanges between representatives of the order are ongoing. Two Saintluciens police officers are in Martinique until April 14, 2023 to assimilate the techniques of the French military.

During these two weeks of intensive courses, they accompany the volunteers (30) who wish to join the reserve of the gendarmerie of Martinique, 17 girls and 13 boys.

The program is extensive: physical tests, shooting lessons, handcuffing a suspect without putting oneself in danger, subduing an armed or unarmed individual... The Saint Lucia Police Force expressed their satisfaction.

All hope that this cooperation, in addition to the resources already committed, will be sufficient to put an end to the violence and the numerous trafficking observed in Saint Lucia and Martinique.
