by  Ministry of Health

PERFORMANCE BASED FINANCING PROJECT COORDINATOR AND UHC DIRECTOR PRESENT TO MILLENNIUM HEIGHTS MEDICAL COMPLEX BOARD OF DIRECTORS.

The Ministry of Health, Wellness and Elderly Affairs seeks to engage major stakeholders as we edge closer to the implementation of Universal Health Coverage.

On Wednesday, November 2nd 2022, Coordinator for the Performance Based Financing Pilot Project (PBF) Nahum Jn Baptiste and Director of the Universal Health Coverage (UHC) Dr. Alisha D. Eugene-Ford, facilitated a presentation to the Board of Directors of the Millennium Heights Medical Complex.

The ensuing discussion centered around the implementation and progress of the Performance-Based Financing Pilot Project component of the Health System Strengthening Project and the Universal Health Coverage Project.

The presentations provided insight into the strategy that will be adopted to rollout the highly anticipated Universal Health Coverage. The presentations by Mr. Jn Baptiste and Dr. Eugene-Ford promoted a spirited discussion and knowledge exchange between the facilitators and the Board of Directors at the Millennium Heights Medical Complex.

The attainment of Universal Healthcare Coverage speaks to the accessibility of health care, quality of health services and the equal and equitable delivery of services with a focus on preventative healthcare.

The World Bank continues to aid countries moving ahead with UHC. This mandate falls in line with the WHO’s Sustainable Development Goal (No.3), which speaks mainly about ensuring healthy lives and promoting well-being for all ages.
