Ministry of Equity, Social Justice and Empowerment introduce a training course in Community & Workplace Counselling Skills and Social Work Training.

The need to boost and enhance social services delivery by various agencies associated with the Ministry of Equity, Social Justice and Empowerment has prompted the introduction of a training course in Community & Workplace Counselling Skills and Social Work Training.

The two-week training program, conducted towards the end of 2022, was facilitated by Dr. Charmaine Hippolyte-Emmanuel for certification via the University of the West Indies (UWI).

During that period, participants received training that equipped them with skills to help provide psychosocial support to persons in their various communities and workplaces.

Participants also received a practical toolkit for assisting vulnerable individuals in managing challenges such as stress, trauma, breakdown in relationships, suicide, violence and burnout.

The Ministry of Equity, Social Justice and Empowerment is committed to expanding this initiative to facilitate the participation of as many staff members as possible in support of wellbeing and stability in workplaces and communities around our island.
