NCPADD: Prevention Is The Cure!
By NCPADD
Prevention is the cure”, National Committee for the Prevention of Alcoholism and Drug Dependency (NCPADD) St. Lucia declared its first annual Convention on Sunday January 21, 2024 in celebration of Caribbean Drug Awareness Month. Our theme for Caribbean Drug Awareness Month is “NCPADD: Strengthening Prevention”. The event was
held at University of Southern Caribbean, Sunny Acres.
The Convention presented the opportunity for the President and Management Team to inform new volunteers of the history, structure and culture of the organization and to outline NCPADDs programs and plans for the year. The convention facilitated NCPADD’s formation of its high-performance teams which met in working sessions to deliberate on action plans presented in the plenary. The working sessions revealed that members felt empowered as they demonstrated their skills and capabilities through results-oriented discussions and presentations.. Each
team shared their ideas and communicated their vision for their assigned initiative.
It was an opportune time to recognize the founder and Chairman of NCPADD St. Lucia, Mr. Clement Edward for his outstanding service and commitment to demand reduction in St Lucia and the Caribbean region; a recognition of not just touching lives but transforming minds. The event culminated with members singing “Happy Birthday to
NCPADD” and sharing cake in celebration of the organization’s 21st anniversary. Everyone left on a high note. The year promises to be filled with positive work for NCPADD..
