New COVID-19 protocols announced for the period of December 15, 2020, through January 11, 2021

New COVID-19 protocols announced and they  are as follows:

• Continuation of working from home where possible
• Amendment to business operating hours such that closing time extends from 9 pm to 11 pm to allow for Christmas shopping
• Restrictions in social gatherings to 25 persons, no allowance for mass-gathering social events
• All daily and regular church services are permitted but restricted based on square footage guidelines. Christenings, weddings and funerals limited to 50 persons.
• Restaurants and bars can operate until 11 pm and can serve alcohol within premises and on a takeaway basis. Restaurants can reinstitute dining in.
• Gyms approved to operate under square footage guidelines and general protocols. Non-contact sports allowed.
• Schools remain closed with special allowances for Sir Arthur Lewis Community College and other tertiary institutions to facilitate small group face-to-face instruction for labs and practicals on school grounds; Form 4 & 5 allowed face-to-face instruction for School-Based Assessments and labs; Grade 6 allowed face-to-face instruction on school compound.
