New engines procured for the Marine Police Unit

We are continuing to strengthen Saint Lucia’s COVID-19 Response and the security of our borders. The work of the Marine Police Unit has been significantly improved with the purchasing of 12 new boat engines for 5 of the Marine Unit’s vessels.
Due to the increased patrols to prevent illegal entries into our country amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, most of the previous engines had worn out.
With these new resources the Marine Unit will now be more responsive and efficient in their patrols. We remain committed to doing our part to minimize the burdens which our Front-liners face whilst carrying out their duties
