New England Resident British Commissioner to St. Lucia

The United Kingdom’s Foreign Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) has appointed Amy Louise Quantrill as the new Resident British Commissioner (RBC) to St. Lucia, effective 30 September 2024. Quantrill, who will be based at the British High Commission Castries, joins the UK’s Barbados & Eastern Caribbean network from her previous post working on Multilateral Elections. She has held a broad range of positions across her career in the FCDO including Spokesperson for the UK Mission to the UN in New York; Spokesperson and Director of Communications within the Office of the President of the UN General Assembly; Assistant Private Secretary to the UK’s Minister covering the Middle East and Africa; and working on UK-Yemeni relations. Quantrill holds a Master’s in Chemical Engineering from Imperial College London and has significant experience in the private sector as an Engineer.

British High Commissioner to Barbados and the Eastern Caribbean, H.E. Scott Furssedonn-Wood MVO, welcomed RBC Quantrill to the UK team in Castries and broader network, noting “Amy will play an important role in strengthening our valued partnership with the Government and people of St. Lucia”. RBC Quantrill has expressed her own joy in the appointment, “My family and I are delighted to have arrived in Saint Lucia. I look forward to working closely with the Government of Saint Lucia and other UK partners in support of our shared and varied objectives. It is a privilege to live in such a beautiful country and I am keen to explore the island and culture including during Creole Heritage Month this October.”

RBC Amy Quantrill replaces Lesley Saunderson, who previously served as RBC in St. Lucia.
