New rules for visiting patients at Millennium Heights Medical Complex

The management of the Millennium Heights Medical Complex (MHMC) continues to put the safety of its staff and patients at the forefront. As the COVID-19 situation continues to develop, the public is hereby notified that the rules for visiting patients at the facility can change at any time, depending on government-issued advisories and guidelines. 

Effective Thursday, September 2nd, 2021:

Masking

All visitors must wear masks covering their nose and mouth, and under their chin at all times when indoors. Masks are also required outside in a small zone around our doorways. Visitors who don't comply with these rules will be asked to leave the premises.

Visiting Times:

Owen King EU Hospital (OKEUH)       

Ward - AGW 1-3 & ICU          

1 visitor per patient   

  • Monday to Friday | 5 pm - 6pm | Maximum 15 mins for the visit
  • Saturday | 12 pm - 1 pm | Maximum 15 mins for the visit
  • Sunday | *No visiting Hours given 24-hour curfew | *No visiting Hours given 24-hour curfew

                                                       

Ward - Pediatrics       

1 visitor per patient   

  • Monday to Friday | 5 pm - 6pm | One parent will be allowed to stay with the patient, name should be registered with nurses.   
  • Saturday | 2 pm - 1 pm | Only 1 visitor will be permitted during visiting hours. If the other parent is just visiting and not relieving the parent who is already on the unit, that visiting parent will need to come to the unit at the hospital allocated visiting hours, thus reducing traffic on the ward.
  • Sunday | *No visiting Hours given 24-hour curfew | Anyone coming to drop items for family members on the unit are not permitted to come to the unit to drop off. The parent or guardian will go to the front door of the unit to collect items                                                                      

Ward - Obstetrics       

1 visitor per patient   

  • Monday to Saturday | 6 am - 7 am | Maximum 15 mins for the visit
  • Sunday | *No visiting Hours given 24-hour curfew | *No visiting Hours given 24-hour curfew

National Mental Wellness Centre (NMWC)   

All wards        

Visitation halted | Visiting of patients has been suspended for the next 7 days.

MHMC recognizes that persons may wish to drop items for family members outside of visiting hours/ Please note these items can be dropped off at the security station, properly marked with the patient’s name and ward.

Follow the protocols to prevent the spread of COVID-19!

We urge everyone to follow the protocols:

  1. Hands: Wash your hands often or sanitize when washing is not possible
  2. FACE: Wear your mask and wear it properly, avoid touching your face
  3. FEET: Social distance, stay more than 6 feet apart, avoid gatherings
  4. FEEL SICK: Stay at home except to get medical

Remember: Prevention starts with you; we should all play our part in the fight against COVID-19.
