The Royal Saint Lucia Police Force wishes to remind the general public that Saint Lucia remains under a State of Emergency, and as such, no marches, motorcades, rallies and or protests will be approved by the office of the Commissioner of Police.
Any gathering (with consideration to the limits on numbers provided for in the latest Statutory Instruments), whether social or otherwise, may be applied for, with an outline of the protocols to be enforced. These requests can be submitted to the offices of the Chief Medical Officer and Commissioner of Police for consideration.
Reports of breaches and planned breaches of the COVID-19 Protocols and related legislation, have reached various police units recently. We encourage persons to dissuade from continuation of such practices, as responding to such matters, not only endanger the health of officers, but also causes unnecessary redistribution of resources, which can only hamper other crime fighting strategies.
We again solicit the adherence of the general public as our country continues to battle this virus. The Royal Saint Lucia Police Force wishes to reiterate that we support the democratic rights of all people in Saint Lucia, but implore all to exercise these rights responsibly.
