Dear Madame,
We are writing to your organization as concerned citizens of St. Lucia who are
deeply disturbed by the state of affairs in our country. The response to the
Covid 19 Pandemic with its attendant partial and total lockdowns has resulted
in a significant disintegration of our local economy and the overwhelming
majority of St. Lucians have incurred incalculable losses of income and a
degradation of their living standards as a result. The main pillar of the Covid
19 Pandemic is the Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) test. Let me therefore
dissect the matter of the testing mechanism.
The PCR test was invented in 1985 by Kary Mullis who won a Noble Prize in
Chemistry in 1993 for his distinguished work in the field. He stated that the
PCR test is incapable of detecting an infectious agent. This is because it is an
indirect test that only detects genetic fragments of organisms in the body. In
other words, the PCR test is not designed to be used as a diagnostic tool as it
cannot distinguish between inactive viruses and “live” or reproductive ones.
Furthermore, the World Health Organisation (WHO) has also admitted via an
update to its website dated January 13, 2021, that the PCR test is problematic
at detecting the prevalence of the virus.
The PCR test works via the amplification of the specimen through several
cycles. The more cycles that a test goes through, the more likely that a false
positive will result. Essentially, anything over 30 to 35 cycles actually
magnifies the samples so much that even insignificant sequences of viral DNA end up being magnified to the point that the test reads positive even if your viral load is extremely low or the virus is inactive and poses no threat to you or anyone else. This thoroughly explains why the majority of the Covid 19
patients are asymptomatic and in good health. Dr. Anthony Fauci has also
stated in a live interview that anything over 35 cycles is unreliable. It is
noteworthy that the cycle threshold being used in St. Lucia has never been
disclosed to the general public and thus, the citizens of our country have no
knowledge of the level of consistency and standardisation that is being applied for PCR testing across the board.
In a recent letter to the Honourable Prime Minister, the SLMDA suggested
that a ramping up of testing should be undertaken. This could be interpreted
as an increase in the number of tests done island wide and/or an increase in
the cycle threshold for PCR testing in the country. However, based on the
scientific assessment of the WHO and Dr. Anthony Fauci, this would simply
lead to a greater number of false positive cases of Covid 19 which could then
be used to justify an extension of the partial lockdown. This will undoubtedly
lead to more unnecessary hardship for most St. Lucians who are already
reeling from the impact of the extreme response to a virus that is essentially
identical to the seasonal influenza virus which has always been a part of our
medical landscape.
As you should know, the topic of the Covid 19 Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccines
has proven to be very controversial. This vaccine which is to be administered
in St. Lucia and many of our Caribbean neighbours is being sourced from the
Serum Institute of India. This organization has received up to $300 million
dollars from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation to aid with the
manufacturing of the vaccines. The vaccines are to be distributed by the
COVAX facility which is also heavily funded by the Bill & Melinda Gates
Foundation. The aforementioned has been produced within the recordbreaking time frame of about 9 months. However, vaccines typically require 10 to 15 years of trials, research and development before they are deemed safe enough for human intake. Key stages of the Covid 19 vaccine trials have been skipped including the extremely critical animal trials. This effectively means that it is the persons who accept this vaccine who will become the guinea pigs.
Despite this inescapable fact, the SLMDA and the Government of St. Lucia
remain resolute in their claims that the vaccine is safe. How has this assertion
been determined? Has any testing been done locally or regionally to determine
the safety of this vaccine? How do we know what the medium to long-term
(greater than 9 months into the future) impact of this vaccine will be on our
citizenry?
Several countries with stronger regulatory frameworks than St. Lucia have
banned the use of the Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccine. France, Germany, Italy,
Sweden and Poland have all restricted the use of this vaccine for persons over
a certain age. Switzerland has placed an outright ban on the OxfordAstraZeneca vaccine citing a lack of data to reach conclusions on the efficacy and safety of the vaccine. South Africa has halted the roll out of the same vaccine after a study determined that it does not seem to protect recipients against mild and moderate illness from other strains of the coronavirus.
It is noteworthy that the Government of St. Lucia had already procured the
Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccines for local use long before the WHO had approved
it for emergency use on February 15, 2021.
The Government of St. Lucia has stated categorically time and again that the
vaccine is “voluntary”. However, the SLMDA has recommended to the
Government the procurement of “300,000 vaccines” for our country.
According to the much-esteemed Worldometer website which tracks Covid 19
cases in real time, the population of St. Lucia is listed as 184,179 as of
Saturday, February 27, 2021. These statistics are based on Worldometer’s
elaboration of the latest United Nations data. Clearly, the number of vaccines
recommended by the SLMDA far outweighs the number of persons who live
in St. Lucia. What therefore is the real motive of the SLMDA? Why is your
organisation recommending to the Government the procurement of so many
vaccines when a substantial percentage of our population is not willing to
accept the vaccine over safety concerns? Why is the vaccine earmarked as the only solution for Covid 19? Why isn’t the SLMDA as enthusiastic in promoting to St. Lucians a healthy diet and the consumption of vitamins, minerals and locally produced foods which have no side effects to build up their immune systems to stay healthy? Why should there be a nationally coordinated thrust to vaccinate the population against a virus that has an 87% recovery rate according to the Government’s own statistics?
If the 409 active cases as of Saturday, February 27, 2021 all recover and
hypothetically speaking we have no new active cases thereafter, the total
recovery rate from Covid 19 in St. Lucia increases to 99.98%. The remaining
0.02% of the infected persons comprise of the 35 “Covid related” deaths that
have unfortunately occurred. However, practically all of the deceased
individuals had severe life-threatening comorbidities. It is therefore
impossible to ascertain whether or not Covid 19 had any direct or indirect
impact on their deaths since autopsies are not conducted on persons who
allegedly pass away with Covid 19.
An ever-increasing number of St. Lucians are waking up to the reality that
the SLMDA and even possibly the Government of St. Lucia are not on the side
of the people. Instead, they are realising that these institutions are more and
more favouring the global mass vaccination agenda even in spite of the
growing number of severe adverse reactions and even death reported by the
mainstream media caused by the vaccines.
In light of the above-mentioned, it is fair to deduce that the ramping up of
PCR testing the mass vaccination thrust suggested by the SLMDA are
completely unwarranted.
Yours sincerely,
Representative of Citizens for Freedom
