Police came under fire at a check point in Castries

Police officers came under fire while at a check point at the intersection of Bocage-Morne du Don on Monday night at about 7:40 pm.

Reports indicate that the officers signaled a motorcar to stop but the driver veered the car into officers while an occupant fired shots at them. None of the officers got injured.

The police went on a hot pursuit after the car drove off but the driver ditched the car in a drain and fled the scene along with the other occupant.

One firearm was discovered when the police searched the car.
