A Prison Officer detained by police for trafficking marijuana, cell phone and other items to the prison on Thursday night atfter the officer arrived for the night shift at 7 pm.

He was at the time engaged in the routine search of officers ahead of the commencement of duty.

A source told St Lucia News Now that the prison officer in question joined the BCF in 2003.
