Royal Saint Lucia Police Force Investigates Fatal Road Accident along the Sir Julian R. Hunte Highway, Gros Islet

On Monday February 26, 2024, about 11:19 p.m., the Traffic Department of the Royal Saint Lucia Police Force received a report of a fatal motorcycle accident along the Sir Julian R. Hunte Highway in Gros-Islet. The Officers responded to the scene of the accident and preliminary investigations revealed that a motorcycle collided with a motor car along the Sir Julian R. Hunte Highway, Gros Islet. The lone rider of the motorcycle was injured in the accident and had been taken to the Owen King European Union (OKEUH) Hospital for medical attention. He was identified as thirty-three (33) year old Jim Augustin of Corinth, Gros-Islet. Jim Augustin succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead by a medical practitioner at the facility. The post-mortem examination of the deceased is scheduled for a later date.
