RYO win Mabouya Valley Youth title

On Sunday 24th November 2019, the Mabouya Valley Football League completed its GK Insurance sponsored Under 19 Football competition at the La Ressource Playing Field in the Mabouya Valley.
In the Third Place Play Off Survivals FC defeated Chesters Sports Club to capture the honours.
The grand Finals which was played between Richfond Youth Organisation – RYO and Rovers United turned out to be a keenly contested one, as both teams tried to get the upper hand.
However, no goals were scored as the half ended goalless. The pattern of play continued in the second half and when most pundits thought the game would be heading into penalties, RYO was able to sneak in a goal in the 82nd minute to edge Rovers United 1 – 0.
The resultant win gave RYO their first hold on the GK Insurance sponsored Mabouya Valley Youth title, while at the same time condemning Rovers to the successive finals defeat after having lost to Togetherness Youth in 2018.
Following the Finals newly elected President Kendel Emmanuel introduced his Executive who were elected into Office on Thursday 21st November. He solicit the cooperation and support of the community in the continual development of the sport and likewise pledged the same.
He thanked the sponsors Grace Kennedy Insurance for the unwavering support over the past eleven years and looks forward to the further cementing of the partnership.
For his part, Mr. Severin Francis, agency Manager at GK Insurance expressed satisfaction with the level of organization and overall success of the tournament. He further emphasized their continued support to sponsoring the 2020 Youth Football Tournament.
