Saint Lucia receives medical ventilators from Mexico

Upon arriving in the territory of Saint Lucia on board a Mexican Air Force plane, the head of the Mexican Agency for International Development Cooperation (AMEXCID) led the act of delivery of another two Mexican-made medical breathing devices to the authorities of the Caribbean country, among whom were, the Minister of Health and Wellness, Hon. Mary Isaac; the Permanent Secretary of the Department of Foreign Affairs, Ms. Adria Sonson; and Deputy Permanent Secretary of Health, Ms. Jenny Daniel, as well as Minister David Simón Figueras, representative of the Mexican Government in Saint Lucia.

On thanking the Saint Lucian Government representatives present for their warm reception, the Executive Director of AMEXCID highlighted the fact that no country can face in isolation the difficult situation we are experiencing today in light of the effects created by the COVID-19 pandemic, which called on all nations to work together and establish strong alliances of international collaboration through cooperation with all those involved. “

On the third day of deliveries of the medical devices on an agenda that will cover 10 Latin American and Caribbean countries, thanks to the support of the Mexican authorities and the support of the General Directorate of the Mesoamerica Project, AMEXCID advances to meet the goal of sharing with sister nations like Saint Lucia, this medical devices manufactured by the Mexicans, which are shared in solidarity with the people of the region and, in this way, express that they are not alone in this tough battle.

On behalf of the Saint Lucia authorities, Hon. Mary Isaac, valued the importance of having these devices and thanked the Mexican authorities for this assistance, especially considering the situation arising from the pandemic that is still uncertain in the near future, and noted that, given the difficulty of having vaccines, these devices are of great importance for her country.
