Saint Lucia records 10 new cases of COVID-19

Today Monday September 13, 2021 the Ministry of Health, Wellness and Elderly Affairs confirms a total of 10 new cases of COVID-19. These cases were processed on Sunday September 12, 2021 at the Ezra Long Laboratory from a total of 40 samples. This number of positive cases makes up 25% of all the samples processed on that date. These new cases bring the total number of cases diagnosed in country to date to 9971.
Confirmation was also received of the recovery of 62 individuals diagnosed with COVID-19. This brings the number of active cases currently in country to 2402. Five of these active cases are currently critical and ten of them are severely ill at the Respiratory Hospital.
To date, a total of 35, 374 individuals have received the first dose of the AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine and 28, 669 have received the second dose. A total of 6, 583 individuals have received the first dose and 77 individuals have received the second dose of the Pfizer vaccine. Tomorrow Tuesday, September 14, 2021 the vaccine will be given at the Vieux-Fort RC Parish Hall, Gros-Islet Human Resource Center, La Ressource Constituency Council in Dennery and the People’s Discount Drugstore at Victoria Street (by appointment only) from 9am to 4pm.
