Saint Lucia Records 111 New cases of COVID-19, 4 deaths, 3 critical and 12 seriously ill

PRESS RELEASE – Today Tuesday September 14, 2021 the Ministry of Health, Wellness and Elderly Affairs confirms a total of 111 new cases of COVID-19. These cases were processed on Monday September 13, 2021 at the Ezra Long Laboratory from a total of 459 samples.
This number of positive cases makes up 24.2% of all the samples processed on that date. These new cases bring the total number of cases diagnosed in country to date to 10, 082.
The Ministry of Health also reports three new COVID-19 deaths and one COVID-19 related death. All of these deaths occurred during the period September 3, 2021 to September 11, 2021.
To date, the total number of COVID-19 deaths in country is 97 and the total number of COVID- 19 related deaths is 39.
COVID-19 death #95 is a 51 year old male from the Soufriere district. COVID-19 death #96 is an 81 year old male from the Castries district. COVID-19 death #97 is a 72 year old female from the Anse La Raye district.
COVID-19 related death #39 is a 70 year old male from the Castries district. The Ministry of Health extends condolences to the families, friends and loved ones of all of these individuals.
Confirmation was also received of the recovery of 130 individuals diagnosed with COVID-19. This brings the number of active cases in country to date to 2379. Three of these active cases are currently critical and twelve of them are severely ill at the Respiratory Hospital.
To date, a total of 35, 400 individuals have received the first dose of the AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine and 28, 705 have received the second dose. A total of 6, 745 individuals have received the first dose and 79 individuals have received the second dose of the Pfizer vaccine.
Tomorrow Wednesday, September 15, 2021 the vaccine will be given at the Vigie Sports Complex, Dennery Mothers’ Pre-School and St. Anthony’s Medical Center in Vieux-Fort from 9am to 4pm.
